Cash Campain has been surfacing over on the west coast, shutting down late night R&B settings and singing himself into the hearts of many for quite some time now. One of his bigger 2016 records, “Cheat Codes” featuring his little big brother, CALEBORATE and T. Carrier, set the tone for many, and today he’s kicking off his run into 2017 with a new serenade. Whoever inspired this track must be special, because she has the boy wearing his heart on his sleeve. Shoutout to the Toni Braxton sample echoing in the background as well. That just so happens to be one of my favorite’s, “He Wasn’t Man Enough For Me”.
Rest assure that classic cut doesn’t apply to THIS man of the hour at all. It takes a “real man” to be this open and honest.. at least, I’d like to think so.
Cash shares a few words on his new piece:
With this being my first single of 2017, I wanted to wake people up and remind them that I have a lot in store this year. This song is the 2017 version of “Just My Imagination” by The legendary Motown group The Temptations. I working on a lot of music right now and during a session I wondered what that song would sound like with some trap drums and bass…this is the result. I love taking a classic and giving it new life.
This presentation was a scratch at the surface. Much love to the talented Lerrani on the visual direction. Cash Campain has much more in store for the ladies (and gents) this year.. Keep close & enjoy.
