We started substituting high level execution for appearance.. -Dev T Smith.
The word influence has become just as cliché as culture has, in light of what it means overall to the art of Hip-Hop. Everyone wants to “do it for the culture,” but how many people are really putting in the WORK to help elevate and highlight all of the beautiful things that make Hip-Hop culture what it is?
In the first episode of EDL’s new series, The Influentials, we visited Dev T. Smith at Combs Enterprises/REVOLT TV to get his “2 cents” on the matter. During our brief dialogue, we got insight from Dev on his journey leading up to his current role as a digital producer for REVOLT, and his perspective on what an “influencer” is in today’s entertainment industry.
The most important thing we hope you take from this particular series are the stories coming from real people who do real things towards the culture. Like you, most of their dreams came to fruition because they had enough courage to take a leap of faith with that dollar and that dream.
Dev’s story thus far is one that should inspire anyone that ever thought that their dream wasn’t attainable, and may have even been on the verge of giving up.
Influence.. We all have it to some extent, but let’s discuss the basics. We’re calling a spade a spade with this one.. Tune in below.
