Musicians that are based overseas typically always bring a flavor to the music scene in the US that holds no boundaries. That is to be appreciated.
Snoh Aalegra is a fresh new soulful artist branching out of Stockholm, Sweden via London & Los Angeles. I came across one of her new records featured on her October release, “FEELS” likely upon its release. What captured me most about her style is the heavy reminiscence to what soul sounded like in the 60’s & 70’s. Her urban approach to such a dated sound was refreshing, and any real music love could attest.
Joe Kay’s latest episode of Soulection Radio featured Snoh, and I was pretty much sold after getting her perspective as an artist. She’s special.
FEELS hosts 13 tracks, featuring rappers like Logic & Vince Staples. This project is one that allows you to enjoy a full body of work from front to back, which is usually what determines the validity of an artist referred to as a musician.
Each record featured is exceptional in its own right, but I’ve grown a liking for her collab with Logic, “Sometimes”. I think thats the one. It feels like Hip-Hop.
Tune in below for track #2, and let me know if you agree.
